Merle Bouffard » Introduction
All through life Merle has found expression through various forms of art. She was raised in Western Pa. & St Louis, Mo., has lived in Los Angeles, CA. and for the past 28 years in Youngstown, Oh. Primarily a portrait sketch artist, she began formal training at Youngstown State University in 1984. She began study in graphic design to learn how to create ads digitally for her family owned and run national franchise business in which she was Marketing Director. This sparked and renewed her passion for artistic creativity prompting her to continue as an ongoing adult student exploring art in every medium for the past 24 years until present. Her work which includes oil portraiture, sculpture, abstract paint sculpture, and most recently the Sculpture Table has been exhibited locally in galleries and in juried exhibitions at the McDonough Museum and at the Butler Institute of American Art. A Coffee Table, Sofa Table, and Pedestal will be exhibited in Birdseye Maple with copper & glass. Also available in Dk. Walnut, Cherry, or custom woods.
Coffee Table - 51" x 24" x 20"h
The sculptures are made of an acrylic copolymer resin painted with acrylics and metal powders to imitate bronze sculpture. The bases are all going to be shown at the opening in Birdseye Maple but are available in Dark Walnut, Cherry, or custom woods or stains. Accent elements are copper and they all have a 3/8" glass top. |
